North Las Vegas
North Las Vegas is considered a separate city from Las Vegas. Incorporated in 1941, it was originally called VegasVerde which translates to “Green Meadows”. Master-planned communities include Aliante and Eldorado.
Home to Nellis Air Force Base and the famous Thunderbirds, the base hosts air shows that can be attended. Jets can frequently be seen training and flying in the skies above North Las Vegas. Nellis is also home to the Weapons Museum, a must for military buffs.
North Las Vegas has many options for entertainment including the Aliante Resort and Casino, the Cannery, the Texas Station,The Las Vegas Motor Speedway which hosts Nascar and events such as EDC, or the Electric Daisy Carnival.
There are over 475 acres of parks in North Las Vegas with Craig Ranch Park sitting at the heart of the city. The city is also home to the Cheyenne Campus of the College of Southern Nevada. The University of Nevada: Las Vegas also has plans to open a branch in the city.
In 2019, Amazon opened up an 850,000 square foot fulfillment center and Sephora opened up a 715,000 square foot distribution center. High-tech businesses including solar and green technology have been moving to North Las Vegas. Bigelow Aerospace is headquartered in North Las Vegas along with other manufacturing, industrial, and warehouse distribution companies.
